Environmental Work
Our steps towards more sustainable operations
We want to have as little impact on the climate as possible and we’re working continuosly to reduce our environmental footprint. This applies to everything from the operation of our data centers to our everyday choices in the office.

Green electricity powers our data centers
We purchase electricity from Göteborg Energi, which is certified with the “Good Environmental Choice” label. This certification means that all electricity used in our data centers is the most sustainable electricity currently available.
“Good Environmental Choice” is the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation’s own eco-label, an independent eco-label with strict environmental requirements that are constantly being developed. It operates in areas where the greatest environmental benefits can be achieved and where eco-labelling can make a difference.
Virtualized hosting environment
As one of the first hosting companies, we virtualized our entire hosting environment. The only exceptions are cases where our customers explicitly request otherwise.
A major advantage of having a virtualized hosting environment is that it significantly reduces electricity consumption. Less waste, more benefit. Virtualization allows the same hardware to work smarter and helps us get more out of the same energy.
A sustainable everyday life
With simple means and conscious choices in everyday life, we strive to be as gentle on the environment as we can:
- When traveling within Sweden, we always choose the train over flying.
- We use our own recycling station at the office.
- Since 2015, all company cars have been electric.

Green energy is the way to go
We’re a verified green web host by the Green Web Foundation, who work towards a fossil-free internet. This means our website is powered by green energy and that our digital infrastructure is powered by renewable energy sources. Read more about their verification work here.

FAQ
Q&A about our environmental work
Because servers can be utilized more efficiently. In dedicated setups, capacity often remains unused but still consumes electricity, while virtualization can pack resources more intelligently and reduce the need for new hardware.
Not by default. However, in many cases, energy consumption per customer is lower because you get higher utilization and a more efficient operation.
