Warning for phishing emails claiming to be from Oderland

Varning för phishing-mejl

Unfortunately, from time to time we encounter people who try to deceive our customers and others by sending a fake email pretending to come from us. So-called phishing.

Today (14 February 2024) we’ve been informed by some customers that they have received a new type of email with the subject (in Swedish): We would like to inform you that your last payment is not valid. The email tells you that there has been a problem with a payment and asks you to click on a link to finalise the payment.

This is fake and incorrect. If you have received this, you can throw it in the bin. Do not act on it.

We are of course sorry that there are those who spend their time trying to deceive our customers, and others, in this way. Unfortunately, it’s common on the internet and we can’t protect against everything. Being vigilant and critically analysing mailings is the best way. You can learn more about phishing in our support section.

If you are ever in doubt, you are always welcome to contact us by email, phone or chat to confirm whether the mailing you received is genuine.

You can recognise that it is fake in several ways.

Firstly, the post is in partly bad Swedish. The sender’s address is also incorrect, as any emails regarding payments and invoices are always sent from oderland.se. Also note that the from field says “Oderland.se A/S” which is incorrect.

The mailing also lacks information that we would have had. The greeting is “Hi [email address]”. In our real mailings we have your name, as well as information about which services the mailing concerns.

Finally, for security reasons, we ask that you never click on a link to update your data with us.

Here is an example we have noted.
