At the end of November, PHP 8 was released, which is a major update with a lot of nice news for developers. PHP 8 is now available for use on all our servers.
Keep in mind that PHP 8 is not necessarily a smooth upgrade. You should test that your application works and expect that some things need to be adjusted.

Are you using WordPress? Wait a while
On December 9th, WordPress 5.6 was released. One of the news there is a first step to support towards PHP 8.
However, it may be that your theme or one of your extensions does not fully support PHP 8 yet.
We currently recommend that you hold off on upgrading to PHP 8 for a while if you are using WordPress until more extensions have been tested with the new version.
If you’re keen to find out if your site works under PHP 8, we recommend doing it on a staging copy first.
