Managed WordPress FAQs
If you search for Managed WordPress hosting, you’ll quickly notice that it means different things at different companies. For example, with some, it’s just a regular web hosting service that’s a bit customized for WordPress.
With us, Managed WordPress is “managed” for real. We take care of your WordPress site as we do ourselves: regular updates, monitoring, and specialist support. Plus, we’ll help you optimize your site, so it’s as fast as possible.
In short, you don’t have to think about technology with Managed WordPress. We think about technology so you can think about doing what you do best.
Quality. Many hosting companies today offer Managed WordPress. Sometimes it just equates to what is always included in our hosting packages. Sometimes updates are included, but they are fully automatic and rarely.
With us, WordPress specialists work on keeping your website in check. We help you manage your WordPress website in every aspect, from tedious (but essential) regular maintenance to fixing problems and giving you recommendations.
Sometimes the site breaks in an update due to extensions crashing or some bug. What we do when this happens depends on which package you choose.
Basic. If you have our basic package, we’ll take a backup before performing your update. Once the update is done, we check that the site is still loading; if not, we restore it to the backup. We’ll get back to you, and you’ll have the opportunity to choose how you want to proceed.
Standard. With our standard package, we still take a backup before performing the update. Once the update is done, we check that the website is still loading. If it’s not, we’ll do a minor troubleshooting to see if we can easily find and fix the error. If it’s a more serious error, we’ll restore the backup and get back to you to tell you more.
Premium. All updates in our premium package are done on a separate staging environment. After each update, we go through a test flow that we decide on together. For example, we check that placing orders in an e-commerce store is still possible. If we detect any errors, we perform minor troubleshooting to find and fix the error. If it’s a more serious error, we’ll get back to you and tell you more.
When you have Managed WordPress, the website is still your responsibility. We’ll help you with updates and maintenance, but if something goes wrong, you may need to look into it or ask for our help. Our WordPress specialists are happy to help you for an ongoing fee, and we always give you a ceiling price before we start.
If you have our Standard or Premium packages, simple troubleshooting is included. This means we look through error logs and try to find the fault. If it’s a simple error we solve in about an hour’s work, we’ll help you. If it’s a more significant error than that, we’ll do an analysis and give our recommendation for what you should do.
Depending on what the error is and where it lies, we can help you solve it. Then we’ll give you a quote.
Our different packages are made to suit all types of websites. We imagine you’ll choose something like this:
Basic. You want to ensure you always have the latest security updates, but your site isn’t business-critical or complex. If something goes wrong in an update, you’re OK with trying to fix it yourself.
Standard. Suitable for most people. You want the latest updates and to be able to get advice, support, and proactive help. If something goes wrong in an update, you like us to start looking into it immediately.
Premium. Your website or e-commerce is business-critical. Should an update cause some functionality to fail, it will be a pain. That’s why you always want us to test, for example, forms or orders with every update.
Enterprise. You need extra testing or procedures beyond what is included in our other packages. Get in touch, and we’ll create a solution that suits your needs.
