We are proud to finally offer DNSSEC for all .se and .nu domains with us. It costs nothing and makes your domain name more secure. Below you can read more about what DNSSEC is and what it means for you.
DNSSEC works fully automatically if you have registered your domain with us, and use our name servers.
We will start activating DNSSEC gradually on .se and .nu domains starting in early June. You can already activate it manually.
Initially it will work for .se and .nu domains. In the coming months, DNSSEC will be added to more TLDs such as .com, .net and .org.
If you have your domain name registered with us but use an external DNS, you can add DNSSEC manually.
What is DNSSEC?
DNSSEC is a technical solution that makes DNS records more secure by signing them with cryptographic keys.
Behind every domain name is the DNS. The address book of the Internet. Every time you type in a domain name, the DNS records are called to send you to the right server. Instead of having to remember all the IP numbers, you can remember the easier domain names instead.
Because DNS are so important, it’s worth trying to target them. One way is to try to spoof the records and send the traffic elsewhere.
In short, DNSSEC protects against forged DNS records by validating each lookup with keys against specific validation records.
