Warning for new phishing email posing as Oderland

There is a mailing going around right now claiming to be from Oderland, but it is fake.

Varning för phishing-mejl

Unfortunately, from time to time, we encounter those who try to deceive our customers and others by sending a fake email pretending to be from us. So called phishing.

Today (10 October 2020) we have been alerted by some customers that they have received a new type of this email. The mailing is in Danish and tells you that your account is blocked.

This is fake and incorrect. If you have received this, please throw it in the trash. Do not act on it.

Of course, we find it sad that there are those who spend their time trying to deceive our customers, and others, in this way. Unfortunately, it’s commonplace on the internet and we can’t protect against everything. Being vigilant and critically examining mailings is the best way. You can learn more about phishing in our support section.

If you are ever in doubt, you are always welcome to contact us, by email, phone or chat to confirm if the mailing you received is genuine.

Nätfiske som utger sig för att vara Oderland, oktober 2020
The fake mailing as it looks this time.

You can tell it’s fake in several ways. Firstly because it is in Danish, a language we do not use today. Partly because it does not follow our graphic profile and has the wrong logo. We don’t do mailings like this either. Your account is not suddenly blocked.

What would have happened if it was real?

First of all, your website would have been inaccessible, and you would have been greeted by our blocked accounts information page.

A blocked account notification would have had our email appearance in the first place. It had been preceded by several reminders about an unpaid invoice. Finally, we had sent a notice alerting you that the account had been blocked.
