Information about the “Inception” and “Downfall” vulnerabilities

Intel and AMD processors have new security vulnerabilities. Our servers are patched.

Two vulnerabilities have been discovered that affect processors. One, “Inception” or “RAS Poisioning” (CVE-2023-20569), affects some AMD processors, and the other “Downfall” or “Gather Data Sampling” (CVE-2022-40982), affects Intel processors.

As always, when these vulnerabilities are published, we take immediate action to minimize the risk of the vulnerability being exploited. All our potentially affected and vulnerable servers have been updated with patches.

We have not noted any signs that the vulnerability has been actively exploited. We continue to monitor the situation closely to make sure that your and all customers’ data and security is protected.
