New phishing emails – ignore “urgent action required”

We noticed yesterday, Sunday August 11, that several of our customers were exposed to new phishing emails. We want to be clear that they are not sent from us at Oderland. If you have received it, you can delete the email immediately. Do not reply or click on any links in this type of email.

If you are ever in doubt, you are always welcome to contact us, by email, phone or chat to confirm if the email you received is actually from us.

Examples of recent phishing emails

Here are some clear examples of wording and the latest headline to look for in the emails, to try to help you identify their attempts. If you find such an email, you can delete it. Note, however, that this is just an example. The methods used to obtain information are changing all the time:

  • Email with header “Brådskande åtgärder krävs: Åtgärder krävs för att förhindra att kontot stängs av
  • Sender “Oderland-Support” with email address po@zueri-reptilien.ch

Phishing is becoming more and more common

Unfortunately, we regularly encounter attempts to deceive our customers by sending fake emails claiming to come from us. So-called phishing, attempts that often increase during the summer months.

It’s unfortunate that there are those who spend their time trying to deceive our customers, and others, in this way. Unfortunately, it is very common, and it happens in many different forms.

Being vigilant and critically reviewing mailings is the best way. In our support section, you can find a guide to learn more about phishing. It is not uncommon for scammers to claim urgency and demand urgent action from you. In addition, it’s a good idea to read the email carefully and look for spelling mistakes and strange wording.
