Oderland Object Storage
We are now launching Oderland Object Storage which is an S3 (Simple Storage Service) compatible storage with free transfer and requests. All within Sweden’s borders of course!

What is Object Storage?
Object storage is a type of data storage method where data is organised and stored as “objects”. Each object contains both the data itself and metadata (information about the data). Unlike traditional file or block storage, object storage treats each piece of information as an independent entity and assigns a unique identifier to each object.
Instead of hierarchical file structures, a flat structure is typically used where each object is stored within a single ‘bucket’. This makes it easier to scale and manage large amounts of data, as each object can be stored anywhere and managed independently of other objects.
Area of use
Object Storage is common in cloud services and is often used to store and manage data such as images, videos, documents and other large datasets. It is effective for archiving, backup and distribution of large amounts of unprioritised data.
Some applications that support object storage are WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, NextCloud, Magento, WooCommerce, TypeSense, Outline, Plane, Gitlab and Jitsi.
Object storage is easily activated at the click of a button under Cloud in the customer section. Pricing for all our cloud services can be found here.
